　鉄製のフェンスの中に直径約140cmのファンが高速で回転している。ファンの羽根のうち一枚には計12個のLEDが取り付けられている。点灯したLEDが回転する事によって軌跡が円となる。フルカラーのLEDはRGBの三色を混合することにより様々な色を表現する事ができる。プログラミングによって制御し、1000分の1秒単位で点滅させることで100種類以上のパターンをつくりだし、それを自由に組み合わせている。10分間のプログラムが再生されたのち回転と点灯がとまり、照明が連動して点くことで全体像が見える。

　皆既日食とは月の視直径が太陽の視直径よりも大きく太陽の全体を覆い隠す場合の日食のことをいう。その際、普段は光球の輝きに妨げられ見ることの出来ないコロナを肉眼で観測することが出来る。コロナとは温度が100万度以上になる太陽の外層大気で、太陽の表面温度である約6千度と比べ異常に高温である。現在でも何故外層大気であるコロナが太陽本体に比べ100倍以上の温度を持つのかは分かっていない。
　私達が普段見ている太陽の姿は太陽のほんの一端なのかもしれない。
　皆既日食の機会を得て初めて隠された太陽のちからを目にすることができるとすれば、世界各地に残る日食にまつわる神話や説話はそれに神の存在を重ねたものだろうか。

<Light> Humans can not live without the light. The light is one of the symbolic things in the human history. It is also very important element in various religions. The Sun and a star, fire and thunder are the representative examples. However humans have created the new kinds of lights by the power of science. Today we are surrounded by various man-made lights such as electric, fluorescent and LED bulbs. I have began to think I want to express the divinity in my artwork by using new technology in the same way as the Sun and the fire brought the religion.

"The Corona" is the motif of the solar eclipse and "The Flare" is the motif of the bonfire. Both artworks are used LED bulbs as their source.
